This was now my 3rd time returning to play at Trilogy and the second time within a year - which is good because I really like Dubai and the ever growing metropolis city that its turning into. Its also not as scorching now as it was back in August like last time!
What is good about Trilogy for me - the crowd is right in front of you, so you can feel energy as you build the night and they like good music whichever way it comes...not bad at all...the terrace on the roof is good place to be when its not scorching outside, I could not enjoy that part as I was playing :-(
Did you know you need permission to allow anyone inside from the DJ and lightguy in the booth or rather a license, we got one for layla but she never used it as the booth is rather small but good enough for a dj with big hair!
This set was a bit more minimal, electro with some deep tracks, for a place as far as Dubai, everyone knew Lollipop and the words although they're not hard to learn!
I didnt play White Stripes but right on the last record, the place was still packed and everyone was singing the melody - oddly enough I was going to play it but I ran out of time and they stop you dead on the stroke!
So I started to bang my feet on the floor and the crowd followed - it felt like being at a football match - so much energy!
Then they went from the White Stripes to "Sandy, Sandy" I felt bad I couldnt play anymore but the bouncer wouldnt let me. A rocking night in the desert!!
