Rijeka// 02-12-2006// Stereo Club// Croatia
Who knew that Croatia was so beautiful! We arrived at Zagreb airport in the very cold mist of a winter night for an hour and half drive to Rijeka. The promoter Robert and his girlfriend kept us entertained with the history of the former Yugoslavia and Croatia in general. When we arrived in Rijeka it made us take a step back – the town is beautiful! Really interesting buildings with lots of history – apparently the Italians built the town centuries ago which might explain the designs, it felt like we were in Rome.
So onto the night, we arrived and Sir Jane was the warm up. The venue Stereo reminded me of a rock hall and the booth was on a stage which was cool.
The crowd cheered when Sandy walked in and they carried on more or less through out his set! As per usual Sandy likes the club to be real dark... He played a bit of really good electro, minimal and some deeper cuts towards the end and thats when things really got crazy :)
Huge shame we couldn’t stay longer, or even look around the town more – tip, never book early morning flights after a very long night!
No wonder people are buying up holiday houses in Croatia!
